Honest seeing before labels.

Perception is the first map. Rushing to name or measure before seeing is how gardens fill with noise.

Prefer patient observation. Prefer human judgment where the stakes are living. Prefer quiet instruments that reveal their limits.

The first excavation is usually shallow: remove the ready name and look again.
